Is this card viable with iray? I notice there is 24gb of ram bc there are two graphics CPUs on it, over 4000 cuda Cores but passive cooling. I see these at very good prices. Like sub 300.00 good prices. I litterally just want to use this for iray rendering.

I could be wrong, but I believe that each GPU uses 12 GB of ram, and that is all that Studio would use. So there's little RAM advantage over a 1080ti 0r 2080ti.
Don't know enough about the CUDA cores to say anything.
I'm under the impression that there's a very good reason the K80 cards have gotten so cheap. They use the GK210, and, while they won't stop doing what they're doing now, support for Kepler chips is coming to an end.

But if you can make it work satisfactorily for now, and you do a lot of large scenes, you may want to take a chance. Buyer beware, eh? Also this isn't really a Product Suggestion. You may get better answers by asking the mods to move this to a more approptiate forum.
I'm testing two of them right now, you can use all 24gbs of ram if you use nvlink.
please let us know what the results are
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/341041/daz-studio-iray-rendering-hardware-benchmarking/
Total Rendering Time: 5 minutes 13.89 seconds
2 K80's @ 110 each
2 k80 fan shroud @ 20 each
2 power adapters @ 6 each
So 272 USD total.
Damn, I overclocked them and got the render time down to
Total Rendering Time: 4 minutes 15.78 seconds
Moved to Daz Studio Discussion as it is not a Product Suggestion.
would you say its worth it? i wouldn't need 2 but one would do
Support for Kepler cards has ended with DS 4.14.0.8/Iray 2020.1.1 last November, which means they don't render in Iray with 4.14.0.8 or newer versions of DS anymore.
When are the 900s due to be turfed out?
When that happens I'll be stuck anyway.
However as I still have an active 412 that supports multiple instances I'm doing okay.
If I am not mistaken Genesis 8.1 requires DS 4.15 so any cards not supported by 4.15 will block you from using the new figures as well.
I like how the price of k80's dropped and nvidia stopped supporting them.
More likely vice versa - end of support gets announced before it happens, so plenty of time for the price to drop in response.
The Iray release notes state a minimum version for the installed nvidia driver. It looks like as long as your nvidia card can install that driver version, the card will work with the current version of Daz Studio for Iray rendering.
Any luck getting the K80 to work with DS 4.2 and Iray? I plan on pairing it with a 2070 Super.
Daz Studio 4.2 didn't have Iray, Daz Studio 4.20(.0.2 for the current General Release) does but the version included no longer supports Kepler (K series) cards. See https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/6200861/#Comment_6200861
Thank you Richard.
....Maxwell, (Tesla M series) which is the next generation after Kepler, has been listed as being in "depreciated status" with regard to Iray for the last 18 months. Still working in 4.16.
Hmmmm that would explain why my GTX 970's have been genrating these errors since I installed the latest version of DS. I was hoping to use these for a few more years.
That card seems to be supported still, it's just runing out of memory. Have you tried an empty scene with a cube in it?
I get the same results with a single primitive. If I use DS 4.16.0.3 with the same GPU, no errors are generated.
