Log file interpretation

I got my first 3rd party daz content and tried to install it, I looked up some tutorials and I think I succeeded.  I found it in the content section but every time I try to load it it wont and says to check the log file.  I was able to apply a moph onto a genesis figure by selecting it and clicking on the same option but I can't load the figure with the textures and other options.  This is why I get in the log file

2019-10-17 07:38:57.562 Spring(1840, 1841) of node "Casual Closet Big Collar Crop Top" extended: rest length < collsion offset (0.0749945 < 0.10001)

I'm guessing there is some kind of conflict with this particular wardrobe option.  Is there anything I can do to fix this.

  • That is an error from a dForce simulation, I certainly wouldn't expect it on fiel load. Let DS sit idle for a few moments after you get the error, to give it a chance to write to disc, and then look at the very end of the log.

  • ok i see i guess it's at the bottom

  • What you saved was a shape preset, which requires the figure itself to be loaded and selected - it won't chnage the materials, however. A Character preset will load a new figure or modify the selected figure (if it's the same base), and that will carry both shape and materials.

  • THANK YOU.  I dug around the endless subfolders and finally found one for materials.  Is there anyway to create shortcuts to get to these easier?

You don't have to use the default folders at all - I don't. Just create a folder where you want and use that to save all your presets/scene files for a project.
