Hello!
I really do hope this hasn't already been answered compeltely somewhere, I did look, but I did not find anything other than one where Oso gave some pointers about using low-res meshes... I'll get to the point...
I'm trying to export a G8F or G8M figure, or any other pre-made figure, into Substance Painter to add some of my own decals to their skin, but when I do so I'm running into trouble. When I export to an .OBJ, I can import it in but it seems like some UVs are missing and when I try to make the textures they just come out all black and it just generally fails. When I export via the .FBX format I'm simply unable to import it into Substance Painter and the message I receive is that no 3D mesh was found.
Is it possible to export a figure into Substance, or even by way of something like ZBrush, so that I can edit either color or height informarion and re-export those maps back into DAZ so I can render there? Am I an idiot and I'm just missing it? I swear, I tried to figure it out, I even picked up the 3D Art Live video series with the telephone booth (excellent and inspirational, by the way!).
Thank you!!

SP can't handle udim. When you import the obj, click the option for grouping udon tiles.
It will mean you have to do extra stuff to texture nails separately from arms but... it'll work!
Oh my goodness that was it! I had no idea about udons or anything like that! It's funny, I was trying to follow your advice from before, and this isn't the first time you've helped me out... I've read a ton of your NPR stuff and I use your double-sided shader the way you described in the edge-less texture thread. Thank you very much, this is a game changer for me!
