Keeping background unchanged
Hey everyone. Is there a way to keep the background unchanged when I render the scene? My problem is that I'm using real photos I took on my camera, and everything looks great when I import my characters. But when I mess around with things like the Gamma & Gain levels, and go to Render, my background also changes with the levels. Is there a box or something I can click to tell it to just leave the background as is and only apply the changes to the characters? Thanks! - Ski

Don't show the image in DS - render without a background, and with Draw Dome off, then save as tiff or PNG and you will be able to layer the render on top of the photo in your image editor.
Alternatively, if you don't want to post-process it, instead of using the Backdrop option for the background, add a plane primative and apply your background image to that. Then you can use the Image Editor built into Studio to adjust gamma if necessary to counter what you changed to get the characters to look better.
Awesome! Thanks for the great advice! And I'm somewhat new to this, so I figured out how to add a primitive, but if it's not too much trouble could you walk me through how to apply my background to it? Thank you!
