Help with deformer?
I am using the 17 Chic clothing on Genesis 2. The skirt doesn't come with any morphs or adjustments. As you can see, when sitting, the skirt is too high so I would like to lower it and have it dip between her legs a little so she 's not giving an up skirt shot to the world. I've never used a deformer so I looked at some tutorials. I cannot get the vertices to light up on the skirt to make adjustments . I tried the deformer on Genesis 2 and everything lights up just like the tutorials say, but not for the skirt.
Any Idea what I may be doing wrong? Is there another way to adjust this?
I thought about exporting the skirt to Hexagon, while it is in the sitting position, altering it there, then importing it back into DAZ as a morph but I don't know if that will work.

Yes, going to Hexagon would work but for the DFormer are you applying it with the root of the skirt select - not a bone, and not the wearer?

then I prefer hexagon work than D-former.
(Once you understand how to making morph for clothing,
in hexagon, it is really useful . Actualy, about many case,
hexagon tweaking is much better to adjust hair or shape
for static pozing)

Then if you try to modify in hexagon, you can send clothing with figure current pozing.
you need to set resolution level Base, and sub-D zero of the clothing (not genesis) when making morph.
In daz studio, select genesis,(with fitting the clothing) then use hexagon bridge. (send to hexagon)
I often , before making morph, save material preset, then remove texture etc, so that in hexagon,
I can work easy . many texture cause sometimes hexagon stop ^^;
after tweak clothing shape for current poze in hexagon,(soft selection, or UV and Paint soften tool is good)
go to daz studio, then select the clothing.(not genesis) this time.
next return hexagon, then select the modified clothing only. (no need to delete genesis obj etc)
then use hexagon bridge. (send to daz studio)
it try to make morph for the clothing.
when making morph for static poze, you need to set Reverse defomation Yes.
so that , morph can apply delta from current pozing shape. if you forget it,
your morph work for zero poze shape .^^;

Thanks a lot. I have only played with Hexagon a little so you have helped me a lot :-)
I sent her to Hexagon and everything showed up fine, then realized I forgot the change the resolution level. I closed Hexagon without saving anything and now when I try again, nothing shows up in Hexagon. I even closed everything then loaded a different file and tried exporting, but still nothing shows up in Hexagon. When I close Hexagon, it still asks me if I want to send changes to Daz but there is simply nothing in the scene. I reinstalled Hexagon, but still nothing.
Daz Stops responding now also.

the one problem is, when you use hexagon bridge you need to keep both aprication running.
if you need to stop work, (and tweak more another day)
you need to save the scene in hexagon, or save it as obj,
then need to use morph loader pro to import morph. without it,
hexagon bridge just send them as obj to daz stuido ^^;
(you may need to adjust setting I believe)

I know,, sometimes hexagon bridge can not work, (eg you stop the hexagon or daz,
untill it send buck. I have experienced same things as you said.
hexagon bridge try to keep running, then break . sometimes It freeze my pc.
then I need to use task manager to shut down, both aprication.
sometimes needed to shut down PC and re-boost ^^;
but usually next open daz studio, hexagon bridge work.
So that you need not re-install them I think.
(but please remember,, save your work ^^;)

it often or sometimes happen, it is one of hexagon bridge bug which need to be removed by daz.
After reinstalling Daz, the Hexagon bridge started working. When I send back to Daz, I see an window that says Action for Skirt and then has a list of Morph settings.
Action - Create Morph
Group Path - Morphs/Hexagon Bridge
Morph Name - My Morph
I selected Group Path - General / Transforms
The morph shows up but if I load another skirt, the morph disappears. It is only visible for the original skirt. where is Morph loader pro?
fu,, I worried if you hexagon or ds break or not,, then now it seems work for you;-)
then when you make morph (by hexagon bridige or, TU or morph loader) and load it
daz studio, you must need to save them.
I do not remember clear, when save as scene or scene subset
can keep morph for the clothing too. (but I think it work )
it is easy way, to save current pozing and morphs for clothing.
but if you hope to use new figure and re-apply pozing, you need to save the imported morph
as morph. from top menu.File >save as >support asset >morph assets.
after that it can load your new morph when you load the clothing as new.
then did you check when your morph loaded, how work with curernt pozing?
it work as you expected, when you tweak the parameter?
if you apply your morph for new load figure, it can not fit well without you pozing actor as same as
when you make the morph. (I hope you understand what I mean ^^)
And to open,, morph loader pro is,,
From top menu,> Edif figure, morph loarder pro.
of course you can re-import your obj to new loaded figure,
but the morph only work well for the current pozing I think.
it depend on how you set the poze.
if you hope to make morph which can be usable for many pozing,
you better make it with rotate one rig, one axis only.
then save it as morph , when you bend rig, you apply the morph to reduce
problem.
I saved it as a morph asset but it's still not working right. I think part of the problem is the skirt is for Genesis and I want it on Genesis2. When I tried exporting with Genesis 2 it will not morph correctly. I tried again using Genesis and it works great but when I try the skirt on Genesis 2 it will not work. I decided to try again starting with Genesis 2 and now Hexagon Bridge stopped working. I'm so frustrated with this I think I'm just going to give up. I don't see why Daz can't add a few morphs to this skirt that they know people will need.

Ah,, it may not work,, or you need to know more about each saving option
and about auto-fitted item.
(though daz still do not offer true good document about each save option)
when you use Auto-fit (wear genesis item for genesis2)
it auto change mesh shape , it is different figure from original.
though you can see the Auto-fit item, in daz studio,
but at this point no data is saved.
So that, the auto-fitted item can not save your morph without you save it as figure.
or you can only save it as scene subset or scene with current morph.
if you try to save your morph for auto-fitted item,
DS may say, "you need to save it as figure" I think.
I recommedn, if you hope to use genesis item for genesis2 often,
you must better save the auto-fitted item, as figure and prop with new name.
Then you can use or modify the new item which fit better genesis2female,
without auto-fit process, and you can use it as same as original item.
Of course the saved item is for genesis2, so that you can not use it for genesis.
(and you need not,,I think, though you can try auto-fit again, with gen clone^^;)
And yes,, we need to carefully choose product, if hope good morph
for basic pozing. ^^; in shop page,, usually we can check
if the item have morphs for pozing or not,,
or we need to tweak clothing, when Actor just sit on chair.
though we can make morph, or D-form , or add new rig etc,,
but I do not think it is easy at all ,when someone hope to start daz studio.
