Pose in place?

Is it possible to set a new pose for a figure without them getting sent back to the origination point? That gets pretty annoying. Alternatively, if they have to always get sent back, is there any way to return them to the spot they had been in right away without needing to tediously drag them across the screen back into position?

That shouldn't be happening - unfortunately too many Daz pose vendors seem unaware of how to make poses correctly and QA seem unaware of how to check for it.

  • Did you try holding <Ctrl> while double clicking the pose? I'm not at my Daz machine, but I thought that by holding the <ctrl> key either brings up options to remain in current position or keeps figure in place as default.

My common solution for all of these problems (and some more) is to always put a character inside a group node. Usually, I do this so I can toggle off and on a character with everything he/she is wearing. However, it also helps with poses that move back to the center, since the character is always at the center and it's the group that I move around.

Having said that, if you ctrl + click on the pose preset, you'll get a pop-out. If I recall correctly, I think you need to uncheck the translate options and that should apply the pose without moving the character.

  • Avoid all Go to poses and just do Anywhere poses!

  • How are you moving the figure? Poses should adjust the hip bone, if they need to (place feet on floor, plce relative to another figure for an interactive pose set) while placement in the scene should be handled with the figure node.
