New Computer 2 HDs

Hello all,

I am having some issues getting the Install Manager installed on my new PC. I have 2 HD's, Windows 10 is on the C drive and the Secondary HD (D:) is for all my programs and such. I understand how to get DAZ studio installed on the 2nd HD, I can even get the Install Manager installed on the (D:) drive but when I got to adjust the paths to where I want all my content and such installed at it freaks out. The attached screenshot is when I try to download/install my materials. Is there a guide that walks me through what to put where, so I can get my materials downloads and back in business with DAZ?

Thanks!

  • Looks like just a standard app crash error.

Might want to try updating/reinstalling DIM.

Current version is 1.2.0.52, as of 10-26-2019 download.

The only thing that needs to be changed is the Settings(gear icon)>Installation. at the bottom of the upper section there's a drop down that allows selection of the mapped directories present in the box at the bottom of the menu. As long as the intended directory is mapped, use the + icon in the lower left to add a directory, and the Content Paths Shortcut is set correctly it should place the items from your download directory directly in the directory mapped.

As an alternative, just open the zip with winrar, 7zip, etc. and extract the contents of the Content directory(do not extract the content directory itself) to the directory of your choosing.

If you've got a lot of content to install, just do a batch extract, and then move the entire contents from the extracted Content directory to your working directories.

  • Thank you Drunk Monkey, I will give that a try and let you know what I get!

  • my programs are on the C drive and all data is mostly on G drive.

this enables me to make a copy of the G drive periodically and if my G drive has issues, (which it has) I remove it, install the replacement drive and assign drive letter G to it and all is happy again.
