Help - New computer installation - can't connect to the database

Hey all!

So my wonderful brother got me an early birthday present - a Surface Studio. I've installed DS from DIM, much like I've done every other time I've gotten a new computer. However, this time, for whatever reason, DS isn't connecting to the database, so the CMS won't run. There's no way to start/stop CMS from instde DS as those options are greyed out. I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do next. Since I make products here at Daz, I kinda need the CMS working.

Any help/guidace/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, in advance!

Maybe if I knew what the cluster directory was, I could connect to that?

Did you install the Postgres program?

blink-blink-blink....um.... I'm not certain. I just downloaded what I found in DIM. That may indeed be the culprit. I'll go look and see what I find in DIM. Thanks, Fishtales, for at least the heads up about it. I'll let you know what I find.

Yep. That was missing from the install. Thank you sooooo much!!! I was going crazy, as I was convinced I had installed ALL the DS files I needed to run the program. Now I'm feeling like a dope, but hey, I'm not proud. Any time I learn something new (or something I had forgotten), it's a good day, right?

@Fishtales - you are my personal hero. At least for today. :) Thank you - thank you - thank you!!!! Maybe some day I'll be able to return the favor.

That's alright. The reason I new to do that is because I have just been setting up a new Laptop and, although everything was working the CMS suddenly stopped and Studio and DIM wouldn't connect. I spent an hour going through all the settings and then decided to see if Postgres was installed. For some reason Windows 10, me or the Gremlins had uninstalled it somewhere along the way laugh
