Genesis Supersuit - manual download - several files broken!?

XoechZXoechZ Posts: 1,102

Hello!

When I download the Genesis Supersuit (manual download - I do not use DIM!) and try to unzip it, I get an error message that several files cannot be unziped because they are broken. I have not counted them but I think that there are at least 10 to 15 broken files in the zip file.

I have tried to re-download several times and it is always the same, so no download error.

But the suit and all shaders seem to work, so I do not know what these broken files are good for. Seems to work without them :-)

Can anyone confirm this? Or is it a known problem?

I have never seen that problem with any ZIP files from DAZ 3D, unless they are corrupted in some way.

Before re-downloading, you would need to make sure and clear your Browser cache, otherwise you run the risk of just downloading the same bad file over and over.

What archive tool are you using to unzip? There were some items that had 0 byte pz2 or equivalent files to make thumbnails with instructions visible in the library, and the built-in Windows zip tool didn't like them.

Yes, I am using Windows built-in unzipper (Windows 7 64bit) and the corrupted files are all .dsa files.

In that case, try 7zip... http://www.7-zip.org

I've never had it balk on zero byte file or other oddities.

Ditto . But what many folks don't realise that Vista and Win 7 allows you to open a zipped file like any other folder, without extracting, allowing the files to be copied and pasted to another folder.
