IDG dForce - Ponchos & Tabards Issues

@DestinysGarden and all others:
Seems I can't get that thing to work. It doesn't conform to G8f. Please help me.

    I don't have that product.

But being ponchos it might be possible that it was only designed for dForce.

And looking at the product page it says "IDG dForce dynamics are designed to be simple, basic, non-conforming, rigged figures that can be used with any figure in your Library without conversion".

So what exactly is the problem your having?

  • It is stuck on the floor and don't move anywhere. Never had such issues. Strange. Tried to move it above the characters head... no chance. Also I've found no documentation for it.

Hmm - I would have expected it loaded around the neck as a plane parented to the character.

The documentation doesn't list any specific documentation.

Is it listed as parented to the character?

And have you tried it on different characters?

Which bone or node are you using to move it (as I recall they are figures).

i've try'd to parent it to the character or without - I was trying to move the main node - no chance. the ponoch glues on the feet of the charachter. See attached image.

Just tried it with G8F and the poncho robe (when I eventually foudn themin smart content under Props ...!).  It loads (as do the others) unparented and un-confromed (not fitted to).  I just selected the item in scene tab and raised it around nexk level and hit simulate and .. worked fine.  If I was actually going to pose the G8F I'd try, first, to parent the poncho to esnure it , at least, follows the figure, before doing the simulate.

I'd forgotten I had these, thanks for reminding me!

In your scene tab the poncho is listed as a figure, not as a prop.

Is the poncho loaded directly like this?

It is listed as a prop in smart content, labelled as a wearable by icon, and loads as a boned/rigged item, thus a figure ;)

  • Correct. No prop.  When I unfitt or unparrent I can move it. But that is very very unsatisfying. Maybe I ask for giving it back frown

It's not a conformer, so don't fit it. Just move it into position (relative to the pose the simulation starts from), optionally parent it, and run the simulation.

As Richard says, and it drapes really nicely, so bear with it!

  • Ok.  Thank you all. Will try tomorrow to merge it without conforming to a figure...
