Problem Fitting Wardrobe

DekeDeke Posts: 1,631

I'm trying to fit "Tracksuit for Gen 8 male" to a Generations 2 cartoon figure (I believe these figs are based on the Gen 8 figure). The dialogue box pops up saying this is an unsupported item and asking what it was originall intended for. Of course, no Genesis 8 option is available. I pick "toon" and it installs jacket above the figure's head. The pant legs are slightly off of the characters as are the shoes.  Any ideas how to sucessfully dress this figure?

3D Universe Toon Generations 2 morphs are based on Genesis 3 figures.  The Toon autofit clone you're seeing is probably to fit the original 3D Universe Toon Generations clothes to Genesis figures.

What you're needing are autofit clones to fit Genesis 8 clothing to Genesis 3 figures.
I bought them with this product https://www.daz3d.com/sy-genesis-8-clones-for-genesis-3

Thanks. I've never heard of clones before. How do they work?  And would it be possible that Daz require that every figure note what base it is based on?  That should be required information, if it isn't already.  I find it a bit odd that clothes that won't fit a character appear as options in the smart content panel when I have a character highlighted. I thought the idea was that only items suitable for that character would be presented as options.

I have those clones and I can testify to them being very helpful. Once you install them, they come up during the auotfit menu if I recall correctly. I use them primarily to switch clothing back and forth between G3 and G8

The clones are great, I still don't know what voodoo Sickleyield did to make those work. If you want to use a lot of Genesis 8 clothing on Genesis 3 models, you could also consider the converters that she and RiverSoft Art created.

They work wonders by converting entire wardrobes (if you so choose).

However they work...they work.  That cloner was conveniently on sale, and now the track suit fits the toon figure.
