Cannot install / reinstall Daz 4.12.0 Error message

Hello. I would very much appreciate anyone's help with this as I currently have no Daz Studio to use.

 

What happened is this:

I was trying to do a reinstall of Daz in attempt to fix the pink iray renders problem discussed elsewhere on here. I downloaded the latest version that showed up as available DazStudio_4.12.0.86_Win64

Tried to install as normal. It has uninstalled my previous version but when it gets to installing the new one I get the following error message:

Error running C:/Users/MyName/Documents/Daz 3D/Studio/My Library/Uninstallers/Remove-DS4 Default Content.exe --mode unattended :Program ended with an error exit code    The application will exit now.

 

Because this was a newer version I wondered if a previous one would work so I attempted to install one I had on a back-up drive that had previously worked fine but now I just get the same error.

Ah nevermind, I had a sudden thought to try and remove the apparently offending file mentioned in the error msg to see if that was the problem and that seems to have worked as I've just installed it without issue.

Thanks to anyone who read this though and perhaps it will help someone else with the same problem.

I had exactly the same problem and your advice fixed it.
