current beta consistently crashes with warning: light sources have no contribution
hey there...
what does it mean, iraywise, if my scene's 'light sources have no contribution'?
i'm using the daz default lighting HDRI to light the scene. just to make sure that there weren't any path issues, et cetera, i copied the hdri from its default location to my library's Lighting Presets folder, and set it as my scene hdri.
i'm not sure what the issue is. i've rendered this scene several times before with no problems. but today, every time i either switch preview mode to iray or start rendering, the current beta crashes with no warning or error message. the log immediately before the crash looks like this every time:

i'm going to rebuild the scene from scratch and reduce the texture memory demands and see how another hdri image works. but i would really like to know what 'light sources have no contribution' means, and how i can best address the problem. i'm guessing that it's a memory issue. but that's just a guess.
can anyone wiser explain what's going on here?
i have seen some other rendering anomalies with this current beta. especially in iray preview mode. smooth textures breaking out in trippy patterns. usually with the translucency color going berserk and laying tribal tattoo patterns down on my characters. a quit and restart usually takes care of that problem. but another issue: sometimes the beta will not relaunch after a quit unless the computer is restarted.

Check your "running processes" in task-manager, Daz may still actually be running, headless, waiting for IRAY or something in the background to let it completely exit. You can wait, or force it to quit, at that point. Then, it should relaunch without any issues. (Shutting down will force those ghost-processes to shut down. Which I believe is the issue you are seeing.)
Are you sure that you colpied all the HDRI files needed, and that they will work, if moved from the expected installed location? (Could there be a light-profile, which it depends on, which you missed, or it expects to find in another base-location, which you just essentially broke the path to, when you moved it?)
