Is there a way to duplicate an object in DS 4.6? I asked this a couple of years ago, and still looking.

You can use Create > New Node Instance, but it will pose exactly the same as the original, i.e. both will move together.

The simplest way, is to load the object again, it only takes a few seconds. There is no way to duplicate an item in the viewport.

For Props a Node Instance works great but figures will hold the same pose. A Node Instance uses next to zero RAM but will take just as long to render as a full second prop. Lighting gets calculated based on the position just as if really loaded. I use them for Trees and Walls and such all the time.

EDIT: The Render will also Need enough Free Ram to ADD the second version for texture lighting calculations. But Not as much as the full item.
