DLD Synthetic Soft Plastic Shaders [Commercial]

DLD's newest shader set is out today.

"This is a set of synthetic "soft" plastic shaders. Rather than the harder solid, single color plastics, these give you a a rich sheen with a subtle color shift that varies with your lighting. This will result in a more dimensional look to your figures and props. The shaders are perfect when you want a softer more pliable look. Use them anywhere from silicone and latex to transparent "rubbery" plastics."

These are based off of the SSS shader that ships with DS 4.6+. We also included a PDF so you can customize them to your needs and a DUF scene to help users who need a base light setup and layout for shaders. :)

There are a ton of presets and utilities to help you out. Everything in the promos uses the shaders - they are very versatile.

Hope you have fun with them! We'd love to see how they get used, so feel free to share any renders!

Here are a few ideas for the "What would I use these on?" question:

Plastic storage bowls & lids
Cooking utensils
Pacifiers/teething rings
Beach Balls
Toys
Bodysuits
Skirts
Tops
Jewelry
Dolls
Cords
Cables
(and if you think "grownups" you have a whole new list......)

Sorry but I'm a bit confused by these, they look wonderful, but are they shaders or shader presets.
    Thanks

They are shader presets based off the SSS base shader. Presets to allow users to get a synthetic plastic look, to help people learn more of the versatility of the SSS shader. There are soooo many things you can use it for. :) Age of Armour did a fantastic job providing the base. It is one of my favorite advances in DS.

Ahh presets, thanks I get so confused whether things are new shaders or presets for existing shaders.

No problem. So far "most" things in the store are presets for things already in DS, or for the few actual "base" shader bricks created.. Shader gets used generically - probably more than it should. :) So I can understand the confusion. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. :)

Let's me list a few things that these would be good for:

    Chocolate bars and candy
    Tupperware look
The softer parts of a car's dashboard
    Doggie chew toys
    ooey-gooey chocolate chips cookies
    anything made of silicone
    Crocs
    fake fruit
    watch bands
the rubber bands in various colors you buy for this and that charity
    roll up keyboards
    taffy
    phone cases
    little girls dolls

and I think the list is rather endless
