Making Morphs in Blender

lilweeplilweep Posts: 2,553

I often have issues with Morph Loader Pro, so I just want to confirm that this workflow would be viable:

If, for example, I have a G8M character that has several figure morphs loaded in to it (let's say Michael 50% and Vladimir 50% for example's sake). And then i export that morphed character as OBJ to Blender and make some small morph adjustments using editor in Blender (taking care to NEVER change the number of faces/geometry).

My question then is: Can that morph be successfully imported back via Morph Loader Pro?

  • Yes, as long as you exported the model from DS at base resolution (Parameters pane). You'd want to check the reverse Deformations option in Moprh Loader Pro, so that you got only your changes (legal to share, if you want to, and doesn't require doing any rigging adjsutments or JCMs for the Michael and Vladimir shapes)

    Thank you for that.

Can I just clarify, is the Reverse Deformations option there for when a figure has extra morphs applied to it from the base figure?

  • The Reverse Deformations reverses out morphs you applied prior to export from Daz Studio. If the figure is then redistibuted, it would require the user to have those extra morphs.

Also check that the scale used to export from Daz Studio is the same for import with Morph Loader Pro (MLP).
