multi GPU AMD and Nvidia

I am using the newest version of daz (4.12) and I currently have two cards installed, one is an old AMD R9 290X, other is EVGA RTX 2070 super.

I know the first reaction to still having the AMD card there will be along the lines of "kill it with fire!". But the fact is, the only reason I have it in there is to run my old Dell 3007 WFP monitor off of. I have tried every other option and this monitor will only run at full res using a DVI dual link only cable. Given that the 2070 doesn't even have a dual link port, this is my only option currently. I cannot use any option that involves spending money as I am 20k in debt.

Thing is, this setup works almost perfectly except that with both cards enabled (it doesn't matter which slot they're in, I've tried swapping them around), Daz only uses the AMD card for rending/Iray preview. Which of course is problematic. Is there any way to force Daz to see the Nvidia card as the primary? For example, when I go into Help/Troubleshooting/About your video card, it shows the AMD card info only (and takes infinite time on Iray previews and crashes on renders prior to the first iteration). But If I disable the AMD card, it shows the Nvidia card in that info window, and all rendering stuff works normally.

Have you tried plugging a display/hdml cable into a port on the 2070 and nothing on the other end while also using your AMD card? GPUs oftentimes disappear logically from your system if they aren't primary AND having nothing (not even a dummy cable) plugged into them somwwhere.

Also Iray works with Nvidia GPUs exclusively. It is your CPU and not your AMD card that's being used for Iray rendering if all you''ve got working in your system at the moment is an AMD GPU.

    ETA:

Also - for what it's worth - running your displays from a different GPU (either Nvidia or AMD) than the one used for rendering is actually highly recommended. So having that 290X around is really quite handy.

I know that it doesn't actually use the AMD card, but it looks to see the AMD card as the primary card, and therefore does not use my Nvidia card.. I currently have my tv plugged into the Nvidia card and my monitor plugged into my AMD card, same problem persists.

If inside Daz Studio you go to Render > Render Settings > Advanced tab >  Hardware subtab > Photoreal Devices what devices are listed/checked there?
