Remakes of Old Victoria & Michael Clothing

I'm always amazed at how many good outfits there are for old models which I don't use. This V3 add-on along with a full outfit done as a primary outfit would be excellent:

maybe it didn't sell well to warrant a remake. I know I would have no interest in it
Odd. Wouldn't be too hard to get that to work with a newer figure, and I'm pretty sure you could just get around any limitations by D-forcing the hell out of the tail...
Some designers did this a few times (Hongyu comes to mind), but, designers often want to move forward and spill their creativity into new ideas, new techniques and new designs.
Also, rigging is one of the most boring parts of development (the most boing probably being manually creating animations). And it can be quite frustrating as well. Designers were pretty ecstatic when we got features like auto-follow and clones, and lately dForce. Each took a little while to get the hang of, to learn the quirks and limitations and find a good workflow, but, eventually, it sped up their development time and allowed access to complexity they weren't able to achieve within an efficient timeframe before.
And these days, we also have these great RSSY clothing converter tools. They aren't 100% perfect yet, especially when shoes are involved, but overall, they are pretty good for their job. Which is more reason for developers not to get stuck converting their past designs, but look forward to new designs instead.

Firstly, there are thousands of products that I and all other Daz customers have no interest in, but that doesn't mean that any one won't be exactly what other customers are looking for. I'm currently planning some period compositions, some of which will be 30s and art deco based, so I've been collecting suitable items re which the above dress and headpiece are perfect. But these latter could be given variant shapes and a series of materials which would make the costumes great for sci-fi nobles and priestesses, and also for fantasy nobles and sorceresses. Having always loved art deco this costume is ideal for some of my planned compositions despite that there's only the one colour, but being for Victoria 3 I can't use it. There are also other old costumes for V4 & M4 or earlier re which at least to me are nicer designs than current parallels for G2-G8 characters, so I can't see remakes not being popular, or in some cases even more popular than current parallels. There also seem to be more period pieces for the earlier models than for the later, and I've often seen requests for such in this forum.
Daywalker Designs, FSMCDesigns wrote two simple clauses: "maybe it didn't sell well to warrant a remake. I know I would have no interest in it". The first clause is simple and clear and it's a point that's impossible to miss. My reply was purely about the second clause which is really a pointless point as everyone has their own tastes. My adding "these latter could be given variant shapes and a series of materials which would make the costumes great for sci-fi nobles and priestesses, and also for fantasy nobles and sorceresses" is to point out that old items can be given a new life if given alternative genre materials, or even add-ons. Any new product runs the risk of not being popular, but I can't see why modified remakes would be any less competitive than anything else on Daz (my tastes, interests and needs making way, way over 50% of all Daz products unwanted). If an individual artist doesn't want to take the chance that's fair enough, but to quote a Liverpudlian fish shop owners reply to a customer who had just been served a human ear in batter: "There's always room for innovation in the trade."
Well, the situation at that Liverpudian fish shop must have been.... ear-itating.

Who says it needs to be remade? Here's a picture of a G3F/G8F wearing one, probably in Iray too: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/417111/
That's great, but I don'tuse V3 and have nothing for that generation. I'd buy a remake for instant fitting to G2F-8F, but not one that neeeds converting.
If there hasn't been a remake of it by now, there probably won't be.

I have used this software to good effect - V3 and A3 clothes that will fit G3F. I haven't tried with G8F, who knows?
