AoA Shader Strangeness

SnapperTrxSnapperTrx Posts: 22

First picture (not_messed_up.jpg): Victoria 4.2 with texture set TechNinja.
Second picture (messed_up.jpg): added AoA shader.

Notice the lips have been "peeled" back, and there are transparent spots above the eyes.

I made no other changes beyond applying the AoA shader. None of the surface settings have been adjusted, no lights applied and render settings are at default. If anyone has any idea as to why this happens, or how to fix it, I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Those are renders not screenshots of the viewport?

If they are renders, then it looks like something is being applied in the Displacement channel that shouldn't be there...at least for the lips problem.

And for the eyes, with the size pics posted I can't tell exactly what's going on...a side by side close-up/larger image of just the eyes would probably be more helpful.

These are saved renders, not screen caps. Here is another image. It seems that part of the brow/eyelid is now transparent and the top of the eyeball can be seen.

Well, that was easy. In the surface settings I had noticed that Min and Max displacement were set to -0.1/0.1. I changed them to 0 and the problem went away. What's odd, however, is that Displacement Strength is set to 0%, so I don't know why the min/max was being applied. Thanks for the quick help, it is much appreciated!

Make sure displacement min and max are set to zero, even if displacement is turned off..

There's either a line about that in the PDF or another thread in forums about needing to not only have the strength at 0%, but amounts zeroed out, too, in order to actually turn off displacement.
