Daz won't open DUF files
I cannot open older .DUF files
They were saved with the current version of DAZ Studio 4.12.0.86 running on MacOS Catalina 10.15.1
"Double clicking on a DUF file" does not work.
"File > Open" does not work (the files are greyed out)
The file type is correctly associated with the app. I have made no changes to this and confirmed it.
"File > Open Recent" works
Is this a mac specific issue? I have checked and I have given DAZ Studio Full Disk Admistrative Access. I've rebooted, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the studio suite.
No luck though

It's probably a Catalina issue, certainly the greyed out entries in the file dialogue are. The current Public Build (beta) does have a fix for this issue https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
It didn't work for me. I also think it's a Catalina issue for Mac. The link to Studio Beta is just for one small file name "Public Beta Content 1 DS" that doesn't include the actual "Daz Studio Pro BETA", among other items that are listed from what you get (according to Daz Install Manager.). So frustrating!
Beta can only be installed with DIM as they need to be installed in a special way so that they use different technical folders, preferences keys and so on from the General release so you can have both the General release and beta installed on the same system without the beta causing problems to the general release.
Then the Beta version isn't ready for the latest Catalina Mac version. All I got was a placeholder text 1.5 KB file.
The beta version is definitely ready, a lot of people have it installed.
It's possible that your filters in DIM are not setup to show the public builds, though, I don't think they show betas by default.
Thanks. I typed Beta, as you can see in the screenshot. Only 1 listed item from that 1.5 KB file.
Try searching for "public build" not "beta" in DIM.
If you still can't find it, check your download filters in DIM (use the gear icon in the top right corner to display DIM settings) to see if the one for public build is checked.
OMG. That totally worked! I see the list. Gonna take screenshots and document this for later! Sadly, I encountered a new problem - they can't find Photoshop 3D Bridge.
I skipped that part - the great news is that I got the files to open!!! Thank you so much, Leana!
Glad I could help :)
Photoshop bridge is optional, so skipping it should not cause problems.
Do you have one of the compatible versions of Photoshop installed? If so, you need to have told DIM about it - click thr gear icon to open settings, go to the Applications tab (the rightmost), click + to add a new application, set the name etc. to your version of Photoshop, then click the ... button to select the folder that has the photoshop.app file.
