Creating a new prop

Specifically a pair of black gloves with a silver cross on the back, for Michael 8.  I swear I once knew how to do this, in my old Poser 6 days.  As my knowledge and comfort level incrases with Daz 4.12, I'd like to recreate that prop for my character The Reverend (preaches the Gospel of hard knocks in the crime ridden streets of Mega City)...The gloves are supposed to have "laser stinger" attachments, shaped like silver crosses.  I figured out how to add an iRay sticker to the chest of his uniform; the back of the gloves is a lot smaller - and to be honest, the gloves I'm currently using look pretty flimsy (a freebie from ShareCG).

How do I proceed again?

  • I think you might be able to just put your character in the scene with the gloves on
take whatever you have for the crosses position them to the back/top of the glove and then parent them in place?
that's if you want them to really have a physical presents. otherwise
check the surfaces tab ... pick the gloves. click on the diffuse map and say browse.. this should take you to the folder with the texture map.. click on it in the folder and say "open with photoshop"
drawn a cross on it .. open the bump map the same way ... after you open it .. select all , copy, paste into the regular texture so you can line up the mark ... match the grey scale on that that map..
then save the whole file as a tiff  under the name "gloves new" or such then save each layer out as a jpeg .. and go back to the folder you've had sitting open and click on your new texture so okay
then when that's on go to the bump channel click browse and pick the bump map with the new name.
