Want to texture hair? Want to paint transmaps, or even hair in your images? This set is for youuuu.

Contains all the tools you need to do any of the above:

100 Seamless textures at 1000x1000 resolution (10 different groups with 10 variations to each group)

20 speckled brushes for making a quick and easy job of painting hair (which you can use to make transmaps, or even painting hair for your images as well)

20 pre-painted whispy end brushes

10 pre-painted columns of strands brushes

It slices, it dices, it juliennes! Ok... it doesn't do all that but.... its got everything you need for all your hair needs. Check it out:

And here is a video, which shows you how to paint hair in your images using the speckled brushes in the set. Yes, you can paint hair just like the main promo (and believe it or not, the purple cyborg image is the one I did in the tutorial)

Whoa!! Nice Barb, this is going to come in handy. I often wish some hair products had more options like wisps and such that would make them look as if the character is in a windy climate. In the wishlist 'til tomorrow.

Between this and Annie's new ARTMakeover kit, I'm going to be busy for a while. :coolsmirk:

Well to be fair to the hair creators out there, its very difficult to do that on a hair model and have it both look good stationary and windy. A hair model can only do so much unto itself. Even with morphs, to get it to look properly realistic is a pain that would entail the intermeshing of both morphs and certain textures. A lot of finagling.

Most of the time, I prefer to paint the hair in images, when its not a promo type render (tho Ive even done a couple artsy type ones with painted hair) but also, rendering a 3D model and painting in wisps (as direbunny suggested) is also a cool idea and viable solution for getting that windy look.

    And ty hon :)

Yes, I like Dire Bunny's idea as well. I've seen posts on various forums of folks who do just that. I tried painting hair on a bald figure years ago, and did a very short style from a tutorial that didn't come out that bad. It's trying to do long hair that's always been difficult for me, and your brushes look a lot better than other hair brushes I've seen at other brokerages. I'm looking forward to playing with them. :coolsmirk:

A question before I buy (Product store page is open in another tab)....

Can I use these resources in GIMP? (I do NOT use Photoshop!)

I need to create a 'frosted' look for a character (yeah, I know; seriously Seventies!), and this looks like precisely what I need -- but only if it will work for me! Kind of like this...:

I like the looks of this pack mostly for the brushes to make my own. I was thinking the brush swatches could be used to create transmaps with and that would be a great time saver.

Well, everything brush-wise has a PNG included, so you can load the brushes into gimp. However, the speckled brushes for painting hair rely on certain settings to paint continuous strands (if that makes sense... I hope it does) So Im not sure how you would enable those specific settings to have them work in gimp. I dont use it unfortunately, so no idea there.

That aside tho, everything else will.

Yep! thats why I did full columns as well, so that u could more quickly build the transmaps up. The speckled brushes are cool tho too, because they paint multiple strands at a time, so ur not having to paint a bunch on a transmap using a single pixel brush. I actually like that I made this set, coz it will make it easier on me next time I do hair LOL necessity is the mother of invention

Well I bought this set, and once I have finished playing with the image I am putting together I am going to try improving the beard that My Mike is wearing. I love the dotty brushes.

Hair brushes sometimes come in handy for grunge work in photoshop. I've known to use them for this a few times.

Now that's an interesting thought. I could use them to create a grey scale Height map to make a Bryce waterfall from a terrain.

Yep, u can do that too. Or just paint it directly in the image.... tho it will require some other postworky things, like little random sized dots for splashes, and mist at the bottom.

They'd also work to paint grasses (esp if u enable color dynamics on the brush itself, and make your colors like a green and brown to variegate the grasses) and eyebrow maps (tho the way you'd paint that is a little diff than hair)

Thanks it was fun to do, Tash needs work next, but I think it is a definite improvement to the beard he is wearing in the image I did, http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/20414/ (the old morphing fantasy beard), which is my usual go to beard.

I did keep going at peering at himself's face and then coming back to it, to try getting it right. It is nice to have a reference to use.

To the best of my knowledge (which is fairly limited... Im making an educated guess here LOL) it should be good til midnight DAZ time tonight. The 30% off will remain, however, for another 11 days.

Yeah, having refs is a good idea too. You can get cool ideas for hairstyles and whatnot as you progress.

Well I think theres a few promos on my store atm... so the main one, the hair resource, and my store stacking, is on til tonight (as far as I know) some of the other promos tho, may be a little different. I have stuff in the V4 M4 sale and the 2013 top items sale... and I think thats it lol No idea what the time limit is on those, however.
