How to install/use Stephanie 4 (S4)

I'm having a devil of a time getting S4 to work properly and I'd love some help. I think I got her working yesterday, but today I can't figure out how I did it. Here's my (failed) workflow:

Open Poser 9 -> open "Figures" menu -> double-click "Stephanie 4" to load figure into the scene. The figure ("Victoria 4") loads with her feet sticking through the ground plane. I go to the Victoria 4 -> Parameters menu and try the morph dials under "Other." I move the dials back and forth, including seemingly appropriate ones like "Stephanie (Body)", but none of them have any effect. I think it's safe to say that this doesn't work.

Seeing morph injections in the pose menu... Load Victoria 4 -> open Poses menu -> INJ Stephanie 4. No new morphs appear. So this also doesn't work, apparently.

What do I do? V4 and Morphs++ seem to work fine, but Stephanie (which apparently requires direct use of V4) does not.

Long time since I've used the gen 4 range of figures but I think you need to 'run the bat file' to get new installed figure morphs to work.

Unfortunately I can't remember where you locate the bat file to run it from, I'll see if I can find out where it is

the file you need is (i think)

    DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat

here's a thread that talks about it and where to find it.

You need to run this batch file to generate the ExP files: ...\Runtime\Libraries\!DAZ\DzCreateExPFiles-V4.bat

  • If this is DS, and if you install the PowerLoader files for Victoria 4 and Stephanie 4, then you don't need to run the batch file - just use the dialogue that pops up on loading Victoria 4 or Stephanie 4 to select the add-on to be loaded.

The OP states that he is using Poser 9

    Sorry, missed that.

  • Now that is weird! I was certain that I did this, and I didn't think it would fix the problem. But... I went ahead and ran the batch file again. Lo and behold, it works! Thanks!

You have to do it once on the appropriate base character every time you add something new that uses ExP.
