Animation - Pin joint to joint - for example hand holding onto another body part

Is it possible to pin a joint to another joint - for example if a hand is holding a foot, the hand keeps holding it as the animation plays despite other joints moving?

I think that can be done with one of mCasual's scripts.
Could also try using the parentable IK targets in DS 4.12
Can you explain more here?
