Issue with rendering clear glass - Solved

For some reason whenever I try and render a scene with a glass helmet, the glass renders as solid black, no matter what glass shader I use. The reflectivity is right, but it's completely opaque. Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have a black space backround above the character? it looks to me like it's reflecting too much so you are not seeing through the glass but a reflection of the sky/space above.
