Motion Capture Options?

Does anyone know of a good MC method that plays well with Daz? Has anyone tried the Anihead or Anilips add-on? I'm looking for something that works reasonably well and doesn't cost a fortune. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Anilip is an audio based Lipsync tool like Daz mimic.... At present there are no human motion capture options for daz studio itself However there are several options in other programs That can import Genesis Such as Autodesk Maya/MOBU or Iclone pro pipeline.

Are you looking for facial mocap, body mocap or both? As Wolf mentioned, none are directly compatible with Daz studio (although most mocap systems will export bvh in regards to body mocap), you normally have to use some sort of in-between program like iclone or Motionbuilder to really get good results.   Like with many other products, you get what you pay for.  Inertial mocap suits will cost around 2.5k and up, optical mocap is generally around 10k for a good system.  There are systems like Brekel, that can give you good results, but you normally have to bring them into mobu for the full benefit, where you can edit and clean up the animation.

  • Even if you've got a good capture, your problem is going to be retargeting. There's just no easy and cheap solution. But Motionbuilder or even Maya will do absolutely everything  that you need.

Motionbuilder is purpose built for this task.
