dForce Classic Fur Cape [Commercial]

I have been wanting to do this for awhile, now with dForce hair in DAZ Studio I figured it was time.  Just uploaded this to the store today, hopefully they accept it ;)

Anywho, I am so excited about this I wanted to share it.  The fur cape is for both Genesis 8 females and males.  In addition to a normal draping version there are two versions that allow the figure to "grip" the right or left hand and partially wrap around themselves. You can also use the cape with one of the two fur variations or without fur.

Now you can revisit GoT if you are having withdraws.

    If you mean lined with fur on the edges then yes.  There are multiple zones on the cape and fur.  So it is easy to hide sections, etc.   The first one on this panel is lined (full fur with all fur hidden but the edges), the second is is the full, and the third is just the top fur and the rest of the cape hidden to create a shawl.

    I'm working on something similar. Mine is a poncho, though, and I haven't finished all the promos yet. *sigh*

    No problem, I am surprised someone hasn't already made this.

    So I finally used a wind node.  I wanted to give the cape some movement and I think it turned out well.  Lot's of cool stuff in Daz Studio!!

    Hullo, we made 2 texture sets for them. One with animal patterns, one with fashion style :D

    Interesting. I tried this, but could prevent the fur sim from interfering with the cloth sim. Now I´m curious to how you solved it :D

    Well at least in the 3D world we know... 'No animals were harmed during the making of this film'.

    We can fur away as much as we like with a completely clear conscience..... unless the fur's from.... Plushie farms?!surprise

    Hurray! I better grab it as soon as it appears, before Daz buckles for PETA protesters complaining about encouraging people to wear fur.

    I did have some issues during development but the fur works great.  There can sometimes be issues with dynamic clothes underneath and for these you have to hide the fur during simulation.  Not sure if this is an issue with the hair or just the huge size of the simulation.

    Totally doable, this might get PETA involved though ;)

    Picked this up! 

    Isn't there yet a way to tell the sym to only fur in one side of the "sheet" that it's been asigned to?  If so wouldn't that prevent the fur from interferring with clothing while draping?

    I picked up and installed it last night - love it, but why are the add-on textures only for G8F? I would never have picked up the bundle if I'd noticed it said only for G8F on the texture pages. Can we get the add-on textures for G8M as well because I'm never going to use this on G8F and really wanted the Animal Furs for the guys (it was cheaper getting the bundle than not getting the fashion texture set).

    Don't the GF textures work on the GM cloak they look as if they are the same cloak so should have the same UV?

    They use H.Materials, and some Hieratical hair and materials don't transfer between sexes. But if they did work why not just package them for both since the cloak is for both sexes and why have an entry on the pages saying for G8F only. I can test when I get home from work.

    The materials will work on the G8M version, I just tested some.  My guess is that Sade specified G8F only because she only created a a double side version for the G8F.  So you would need to add a Iray Decal Node to the male cape before applying the animal textures to get the full effect.  However, the textures still look good with out it.

    BTW I made sure the node names were the same so H.materials would work on both.  You can copy the two file folders for the presets and paste them in the G8M folder for easier access.

  • I can't get the fur to show up at all, in previews or renders. It's just gray boxes and then nothing... Help please!
