How to make render pic clear when zoomed in?

newbie here.

If i render close up, the resulting pic is very clear. If I render far, but zoom into the resulting pic afterwards, it is not clear.

I tried increasing render quality, max samples, converged ration etc but it didn't work.

How do I render pic where when I zoom it, it is still very high quality?

  • If you zoom uin after render you are just enlarging the pixels (once you go past 100%), the render doesn't have the original 3D data and textures to interpolate the extra data - it's just like a photo in that respect.

  • im currently rendering a very close up picture of my characters face. im rendering in 4k and doing it at 3000 iterations. its only at iteration # 1647 currently and is already so clear and detailed that i can see the pores in my characters face. i only doing the full 3000 iterations to get rid of fire flies. when i render full body shots the image is not as detailed but still looks very good. id say render in as high of a quality that your pc can handle and for as long as youre willing to wait. for me 3000 iterations at 4k resolution takes about 2-3 hrs. and im ok with that for pictures. but hey im new to this so take my advice with a grain of salt

  • alright. thanks all
