Genesis/2 Anime Hair

Something I'd like to see more of around here is anime-style hairs. More times than not I'm stuck with only the hair products that came with Hitomi and Hiro 5's releases and I'm wanting for something else now to add variety. I see a lot of anime characters with quite a few unique styles that most of the so-called "anime" hairs here at the store don't really add up to. I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find more styles of this genre or if anyone's willing to take requests.

I expect we'll see a lot more when/if Aiko 6 ever hits the stores. In the meantime, there's the hairstyles which came with Genesis Sadie and the other 3DU characters like Jasmine or Jason which work perfectly fine with Genesis 2 male and female.

True, but they aren't really anime-looking so much as they are toony. Rendo has a couple of interesting items, but I literally mean "a couple".

I mean, look at your icon alone. I'd love to see a hair like THAT in the store as well as others similar to it. :)

That's something I don't get, too. Aiko and Hiro were supposedly the most popular characters in Gen 3 and had a nice second-tier popularity during Gen 4, yet there's barely any item for them that are distinctly "Anime/Manga". And of course, now with Genesis running the show every character gets no distinct spotlight time after their release.

A3 and H3 were not that good at anime - not without getting additional "make the teeth and eyes more anime" thingies.
A3 was the cutest girl, but popularity (in my opinion, I may be wrong) was more about the cute faerie characters by Thorne/Mada/Sarsa and some others, not anime style characters.

I predict in the not too distant future I will be making a lot of toon hair since I am more attracted to the NPR style of 3D art. I could make neat hair with Sculptris but it was always too high poly to be useful and I was too lazy to retopo with Hexagon. This is the year I'll be finally upgrading my modelling tools and auto-retopo will the a must.

I'd look for 3DUniverse hairdos, however anime isn't my cup of tea, so I can only assume. Isn't Mitsu Hair okay for you? What kind of hairstyles are you looking for? Explain deeper please if you can.

The trouble with unique hairdos is that they're recognizable as those unique hairdos. That isn't to say the content creators can't make some anyway, but they have their own imaginations and can come up with other 'dos instead of copying another creator's work.

Though, as you said, these are distinctly for females. Anywhere I can get some masculine ones as well?

There's also the Anime Hair Set 1 & 2 that someone made for an anime figure, but I'm not sure if they're compatible with Genesis' technology, at least not gracefully...

Doing a bit of research, style 18 in your "Anime Boy Hair 2" looks like Foxy Hair to me, with the bangs shortened and the front pointed. Yes, it's marketed as a girl's 'do, but that shouldn't matter with Genesis.

It was some robospam that a mod has already deleted. The "redirect to account" behaviour is what happens when you try to go to a deleted post.

I know I've seen these used on Genesis figures...not sure about "gracefully" though!

While not specifically "anime," the Sadie and Sam Hairstylz include a wide variety of options (in addition to those characters' default hair as HeraldofFire mentioned).

Yeah, I've seen that happening a bit lately, myself.

Either way, I'm glad to see this thread get some life breathed back into it, because I'm still looking for good hairs.

Though, with Aiko 6 apparently coming next month (I'm only assuming, mind you, seeing as though she's the next spotted character after Giselle) this will definitely hype-up the mood for anime among the consumers and PA's. :)
