How to downgrade from 4.12 to 4.10

I recently did a complete reinstall of DIM and Daz Studio and upgraded it to version 4.12. After having some issues with 4.12 not rendering with my GPU I was told I needed to download the public beta of 4.12 along with the latest Nivida Drivers by a Daz Forum Admin. Needless to say, doing all that did not solve the issue of my CPU rendering instead of my GPU. So now my question is how can I go back to 4.10 that I know worked? in my account settings and DIM it only allows me access to 4.12, Is it not possible to go back once you removed? Please advise

Unfortunately, you have to have backed up your install files beforehand... you cannot go back without them.
Well, that is just great. So basically I can no longer use daz in the current state of 4.12 public beta because it either crashes when I try to render or it won't use my GPU. Guess I will look into buying another program like poser or something if this is unusable by me. Thanks for the quick response though
You can open a Support Ticket to ask for an older version, but we can't promise a specific outcome.
You are using the 4.12.1.40 build, released last week, to render? That has an updated Iray with a number of fixes for the 440 drivers. You might also try rolling back to an older driver, 430.86 is working for me (with a non-RTX card - I have my new system sitting in parts so your suffering may well be in my immediate future).
I am using a GTX 1050 TI in my system. I will look into rolling back to 430.86 drivers. I just updated to 441.41 as suggested in another thread, and hopefully, that will be a good band-aid for now. If not I will try to open a support ticket to get an older version. Thanks for the advice
Edit/Update
I just looked in my device manager to roll back driver and it grayed out not letting me rollback, I probably did not have that version since I do not really update my drivers regularly unless I have to. I am of the thought if it ain't broke don't fix it when it comes to drivers.
You can uninstall the current version and isntall the older version using the download, rather than using Device Manager.
In device manager I get the following options:
Driver Details
Update Driver
Roll Back driver (shows greyed out and disabled cant select that option)
Disable Device
Uninstall device
I would assume it would be uninstall device but it says device not driver so that concerns me
You don't need to use the device manager at all. Go to https://www.geforce.com/drivers and grab the installer you need. It will uninstall the version you have installed now before installing.
I feel your pain, I'm still using daz studio 4.10 and I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. I don't like not being able to downgrade to more compatible software. I would suggest using Blender, and if you are a die hard Iray user. You can use Blender with free Otoy Octaine render engine it works well or you can use diffomatic daz to blender plugin and render in cycles or evee.
Just in case someone else finds this during a search.
TLDR: Going back to 4.10 from 4.12 works well.
Recent official DS version 4.12.0.86 has some consistent crashes when using the Fit To script going from different generations, especially hair (ie Fitting Catwalk Hair which is G1 to G2F). I did submit a crash bug to DAZ Technical Support and we will see what happens. I just migrated to 4.12 less than a month ago and have not been using many Fit To scenarios until today. I don't really see much of a difference between 4.12 and 4.10 so probably will stick with 4.10 since it has been absolutely flawless stable and with exports and imports. (PC is Ryzen 5 1600, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB v442.50)
4.12 and 4.10 seem to be compatible with each other. I just uninstalled 4.12 and installed 4.10 (DAZStudio_4.10.0.123_Win64) and it worked perfectly. I ran the same tests that were consistent crashing and zero issues.
If staying with 4.12 official/beta there is a workaround for crashing using the Export OBJ then import and transfer it to the gen character you want to fit to that is crashing. Works but obvously is a bit tedious.
I personally love 4.10. Yeah, 4.12 crashes a ton. I have 4.10 as an install file, and yes, it is compatible with 4.12. In fact, your post inspired me to uninstall 4.12 and reinstall 4.10. I used 4.12 for about a week. It's buggy, it crashes and quite frankly it sucks ass.
I have a GTX1070 and also had problems with 4.12, but the latest beta seems to work fine - no dropping to CPU and no crashes so far. NVidia driver is 442.19
I usually do that myself. I use DS 4.10 and install the latest beta to play with all the new tools but I prefer stability to kewl tools.
