Dforce and Animating

Hello there.

I am trying to make a short animation and long story short my character has a long dress of some sort. and to properly animate the dress i know have to simulate it through the animation.

So, to get the best simulation result, i have to simulate it from the standing A-pose and let that transition to the desired sitting pose.

My question is, can i save the current simulation that i previoulsy did and start from that point to continue on another simulation?

To make it clearer. Simulation A was to have my figure's dress simulate from standing up to sitting down. Simulation B will be from sitting down to something else.

Is it possible to somehow keep the A simulation without keeping the frames so i can start the actual animation?

I am so sorry if i am not making sense. English isn't my first language... or my second in this case.

Thank you!

Simple answer: it is risky, but it might work.

Long answer: when you start the simulation for the second part (sitting to something else), most likely the dforce items will end up in a slightly different position than they were at the end of the first simulation. This means there will be a quick jump of that fabric in the animation. It is difficult to work around this or smooth this out. Adding some time sitting still in the chair at the end of the first simulation and at the beginning of the second simulation should help minimize the differences.
