Do I need to keep the zip & dsx files?

I was cleaning out my computer to see if that might help my memory problems when I saw 3000 files in the installmanager folder. Do I need to keep those files or can I delete them to erase I don't know how many gigs of space?

I'm guessing at the files you are referring to.
The manifest files, yes you should keep. Those tell DIM what has already been installed. But that folder's size should not be in Gigs.
Not at my Daz PC, but there should be an option (a check box I believe) in DIM that will automatically delete the content zip files upon installation. Those you don't need to keep, though I have seen where some people keep them as backups.
You can safely get rid of .zip files only. The .dsx files are not big. And in the Install Manager, in the Ready to Install tab, check 'Delete package once installed' to prevent a new accumulation of .zip files. You can always re-download, of course.
Thank you for the info. Didn't think I needed the .zip files but wasn't sure about the .dsx ones. Also, thanks for the tip about the setting.
@wildbillnash, you can safely delete all the files, .zip and .dsx, in the Downloads folder for the Install Manager. The Manifest files are stored in a different folder.
To verify this:
I'm assuming you installed DIM with all the defaults.
L'Adair, I did install the DIM with all the defaults settings, I didn't make any changes. Was your suggestion for helping me find the zip files? What are the manifest files?
@wildbillnash, the numbered steps were for your peace of mind; the Manifest files are not stored with the zip files.
The Manifest files are where DIM keeps track of your installed products, where everything was extracted to, etc. DIM needs those files.
The dsx files in the folder with the zip files are actually extracted from the zip by DIM. If you had DIM delete the archives, it would also delete the corresponding dsx file in the archive folder.
As I said, it is safe to delete all the files in the DIM downloads folder, including the dsx files found there.
