Strand base hair with UV map colors

Hello

I tried to make strand-base hair with UV-Map as colors. I use a color map in the base color of the Strand-base hair but I get no colors on the hair. Is it possible to use a texture map to color the hair?

I don't get the the hair colors I definded in the Strand-Base Hair editor into the hair. In the "surfaces" tab  I have just the default "base color". I can't finde the definded root and tip color options. Does anybody know what could be the reason why I have base color only but no root and tip color?

I play with the new Strand-base hair tool in DAZ 4.12. It works quite well so far, only I can't get the colors wich I have defined in the Strand Base Hair Editor into the hair on the figure. I have only the base colors in the "Surfaces" tab, but the root hair color and tip hair colors wich I have defined with textures are not present. I miss the color option for the hair in the surfaces tab.

I'm using "create / New strand base hair .." the hair directly on the figure. Do I have to do something different so that it takes over the colors and the hair color options?

Have you tried to apply the dual lobe hair shader first? It comes shipped with Daz Studio 4.11 and above.

    Hello

Thank you for your tip, but I can't find the "dual lobe hair shader". Where should it be in DAZ 4.12? Do I need to install it sperately? I only found it to buy in the DAZ shop for $ 32.95

Oh it's been a while that I applied the standard dual lobe hair shader ... it should be in the same directory where the standard Iray Uber shaders are located. They are the same location like the Grnrsis figure bases, only in the folder "shader presets" or something like this.

No, it's not a commercial product but included with Daz Studio from version 4.11 onwards. I'm currently not on my PC so can't look for the standard path but it should be there where you find the Iray Uber shaders.

Do you know where the base Genesis figures like G8F or G8M are located?

The product you linked is based on Daz's sbh shader. It's not the base shader itself.

The dual lobe shader is part of the "dForce Starter Essentials" which is a separate download included on the DAZ Studio download page in your library or in DIM.  Just filter by "essentials".

Oh, my bad. I forgot which package included the shader. Sorry for adding confusion.
  • Thank you very much! I've found it in the DIM to install. Now it works. Now it's in the "shader Presets/omnifreaker/Strand-Based-Hair/"

Some properties do not work in iray, only 3delight. Mostly they are hidden by default.
