Applying a shader overwrites (or erases) the texture?

Still trying to figure out how to apply a Superhero emblem (in this case Batman) to the chest of my character, using the No Suit for Genesis 8 Male.  First thing I figured out is that applying a shader makes the texture disappear.

Okay...so I tried without applying a shader and managed to apply the emblem using the L.I.E., but...the No Suit's stock color isn't exactly Batman -like, so the moment I change the color, it masks the emblem...

How can I fix this?

If you hold control when applying a shader you can get an option to ignore texture maps. Not sure if that will fix the problem here, not really all that familliar with LIE other than using makeups. Maybe applying the shader, then the LIE emblem after would work if that doesn't.

Other than LIE and iRay decal, what other way is there to add the darn emblem to the suit ?

  • there really only 3. a texture, LIE or iray decal.

You should be able to apply the shader without borking the texture maps.

Well, I assume you could also do it as a diffuse overlay or apply it to a geoshell.

  • I guess a diffue overlay would work but I'm not seeing how a geoshell could get the job done. To see the underlying texture you need to set opacity to 0% which makes the shell invible.

You can use an alpha mask
