Problems adding lights to the scene

Hi!

Maybe very beginner questions, I tried to solve but have no more ideas.

So. I have a basic scene, of course no lights. (1st. image)

Okay, see how it looks in render (2nd. image)  Okay.

Turn on my two added lights, it is beautifully there in the preview (3rd. image)

Lets see how it looks in render (4th. image)

And nothing happens!!! The render is the same as before.  What must be done, what I missed?

  • Linear point lights are just point lights in Iray - in 3delight the way the light falls off with distance can be chnaged, in Iray it obeys physics and falls off as distance squared. If you are using the defaults in render Settings, especially for Tone Mapping, then the point lights are not likely to have much effect - you can just see a couple of brighter spots on the ceiling. My suggestion would be to go into the Editor tab of render Settings and turn the ISO value up to at least 1200, see how that looks.

Unfortunately texture shaded preview is not accurate, you really need to render or use the iray preview mode (if possible on your system).
