CUDA keeps crashing

I have 4.12 and a GTX 1070 and a 660 Ti.

For some reasons, the CUDA device keeps disappearing after one or two renders with iray. The next render then will be CPU only.

  • Which driver? The 440s seem to have issues - the current Public Build of DS, 4.12.1.490, has an Iray update that includes workarounds for the issues (though I'm not sure it's perfect) https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta

  • I had the issue with 4.11 sometimes but not as often. Recently it happens like every second session. I will try the beta, thanks.

If you don't close a previous render window and you have a fairly complex screen, you may be running out of Vram on your GPUs. You will likely lose the 660 TI for almost any scene with more than a naked G8F.
