I wanted to modify something manually in a texture file and now all I got is a line of four digit numbers instead of texture information. What's going on here? This is a new install on a different computer but things are working ok,so I am wondering whether this is a problem of the settings? Or has DAZ changed this so radically that files cannot be modified by hand? Whichever file I am opening I always get the same rows of numbers. Do I need a decoder or something?

I'm not sure what you mean by rows of numbrs - is your text editor perhaps treating it as a binary file? You may be using a compresses file anyway, in which case you'd first need to uncompress it - using the Batch Convert pane in DS or an archive tool (for a single file I usually just use 7Zip from the right-click menu)
AAND you solved my problem again. I was using compression when saving. Ok... and we save again without. Thanks a lot :D
