DIM: Products Marked as Installed & Product Updates

My C:\ drive crashed and I've installed a new C:\ drive that works. Thankfully, I saved my files on a different drive, but I no longer have the DIM file that noted which products have been installed (I have everything installed except for products I ordered while hard drive was out). Thankfully, there is an order sort option. If I hide the rest of the files, will subsequent updates for those products show up? Is there some way to deal with this more gracefully?

Thanks in advance.

  • By default the manifest files that tell DIM what it has installed and the downloads themselves are both kept on the C: drive. For an update to be noted as an update you need to have at least one - the zip or the manifest for the installed files - available to DIM so if you've lost both no, you won't get update notes. However, if you still have the zips you will get update alerts (though DIM won't know to remove any files that are no longer needed, which can cause issues). If you do have the zips it would probably be best to reinstall from those.

Is there any way around this (like a script that can run through my installed files) without reinstalling everything? I mean, I have WAY too many products to do that.

Not that I am aware, no.
