What is needed to 'export' poses?

I'm thinking of putting together sets of poses up for sale and wondered how to get them ready to upload online?  Do I just copy the files from my mylibrary/preset/pose folder or do I need to export them from the Daz program?

Thanks in advance for any info.

  • Just zip up the prsets, and add a read me of course.

  • Thanks, Richard.  Sounds easy.  Don't know what to put into the 'read me'.  I can't even find the read-mes for the majority of items I've gotten so far from Daz.  Haven't the slightest idea where they hide them.

Go to content libray select a product-Right click -Browse to folder location and Read me!

  • At the very least the read me should give the usage rights - if you don't tell people thay can do soemthing with the poses then legally they can't use them at all, since rights must be granted rather than being assumed. I would also add the name of the supported figures, a file list for something like this, and any notes (e.g. are the poses centred in the world? Are any of them pairs?).

Nope. Nada. Zilch.  Tried several products and no Read-me files.  I have a lot of lights which I have no idea how to use. Other things as well.

  • UPDATE: Okay, by using the precedure above I only found the files with no read-me files.  I backtracked out of the folder until I got to the MyDAZ3D Library folder and found a folder of Read Mes.  It has less than 1/3 of the products listed than what I have purchased.  These read-mes are not connected to the products directly that I can see.  Any ideas what's going on?

Yes - Daz 3D made it a policy to keep ReadMe's online only (at least for newer products) - if you installed via DIM then inside DIM you click on the "i" in a circle after the product name and that will connect you to the online ReadMe. Otherwise you can go to here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/start - the ReadMe's are stored by SKU number. There are some missing (I've raised tickets for several) but mostly they are there for newer products.

  • So that's what those pages are, MelanieL.  Thanks, I've been seeing them all the time but thought they were a condensed version of the sales page.  You can also find them in Daz Studios by clicking the Products tab in your Smart Content.  You click on the product and then you click the image above 'All Files'.  It will open up the same page.

The reason I didn't think they were the Read-Me page because I have yet read one that explain how to use a product.  I have several lights I have no idea on how to use.  I click on them and nothing happens that I can see.

    Thanks for the info, MelanieL.
