Nice warm weather here in the days and coolish sleeping weather for the nights. Looking like my Achy Breaky joints might be getting a nice break for some time to come. I still have my normal stuff to deal with but those days of sudden UBER pain might be gone for awhile.

None Complain #2: My big scene file that crashed out on me is coming along very well set up just a bit differently. I'm almost back in the story business again.

...was lovely yesterday. 61° with sun most of the day. Was able to get all my errands run on my bike. That saved me an extra 5$ so I could go to the neighbourhood cinema last night.

Today has been a different story 50s and rain all day. Joints and bones, particularly my left elbow really acting up again. Need a good string of days like yesterday to get it all to settle down. Was so achy, laid down for a good part of the afternoon and took a nap.

Applied for a few more jobs earlier today. Sent a second letter to House Speaker Boehner for all the good it will do. Supposedly he has no intention of extending UC benefits. Spoke with my next door neighbor who is a very sensible and level headed fellow and he feels the same as I and a lot of others do on this matter.

    So a "semi-productive" day today

no renders for me this morning. i need to type some letters. i thought I reinstalled OpenOffice.org, but I can't find it. I'll use Wordpad to type the letters because my relatives need the letters now, not after lunch.

    ok, gotta run. bye

No thanks, I don't drink coffee. I'm going to read about Magento eCommerce solutions now. Later

    edit: forgot something.

edit 2: I actually found a job posting looking for someone with experience using Magento. Cool.

so.. Magento is an application that runs on a web server? I'm still trying to learn how to install the community edition on my computer. Too bad that I can't just double-click a setup.exe program and have the setup install icons in my start menu. I unzipped the zip file and found a whole bunch of PHP files. I have never seen so many PHP files before. One of them is called install.php. I know, I should've read the installation hints before I unzipped the file.

I'm going to download a web server that can run PHP scripts now. Later

i have yet to try Animate lite with Daz Studio.

I'm busy trying to run my own web server. The server that I downloaded uses port 8000 instead of 80 for HTTP access. Now my local webpages have a URL that look like: 127.0.0.1:8000/index.html

edit: I see what happened. Another server was already running on port 80 when I installed the new server.

edit 2: I never knew that setting up my own websever to run web applications is complicated. Too bad I can't just double-click setup.exe to install web applications to run them from a desktop computer. :)

David 5 can wear clothes made for the Girl 6? I must've missed the promotion for the Genesis 2 to 1 shape/converter.

one hour later, I finally found a web server that can run PHP without hassle.

...rather have ouchies from sunburn than Uncle Arthur.

Forgot to set clocks ahead last night. Consequently woke up a lot later than I wanted to. They should have an "Adjustment Monday" holiday after we change to and from DST.

Other days that should be National Holidays:

    Martin Luther King Day
Election Day (many other nations make this a national holiday so people are able to get out and vote)
    Super Bowl Hangover Day

...watch out, that stuff is strong, about 18%. Sake is also not a wine but actually closer to beer in that it is brewed not vinted or distilled and therefore does not have a long shelf life after the bottle has been opened. It is best served warm, just about at body temperature.

I have the same video card. It works in a PCI express 1.1 slot. The card doesn't help Luxrender run faster. Sorry, but the card is too slow. Even the Geforce 630 that I want might be slow for Octane. I'll try to answer your question later.. there has to be a small program that will show the motherboard's information. I don't like downloading big programs unless I need to.

...interesting, just fired up the workstation and the DIM is gone. No desktop Icon, not listed in "All Programmes" under the Start Button.

...the main folder is there but all the sub folders are empty. the only thing there is the icon file and Windows .dll.

It's like someone went into my system through my firewall without my knowledge and deleted all the components.

Was going to load/install the update for the Atmospheric Cameras as the fixes for the Advanced Spotlight/Ambient light are included.

This has me just a BIT concerned.

Sorry Misty, but the Geforce 8400 is slow by today's standards. Even the Geforce 630 is kinda slow. I read somewhere that CUDA rendering with Luxrender using the hybrid mode is still experimental or slow with low cost video cards.

The more powerful cards that use PCI Express 16 2.0 or 3.0 are expensive at $75 or more.

    Sorry I couldn't help more.

Edit: GPU-Z can show you what kind of video card and the PCI type. If you have an integrated video chip, GPU-Z may not show the correct PCI slot bus that you motherboard has. See the second screenshot for an example.

I'll keep looking for a program that will display the types of slots that are in your computer.

Are you running any kind of auto cleaning software on that computer. Is it a private ISP or Wifi Hub
