2-Sided Geometry using dForce

Example. I'm create a hood that I made 2-sided in ZBrush. I need the exterior to be a color and the exterior another.

When I use dForce, the 2 layers work independantly.

Is there a way to make this 2-sided hood simulate as thought it's one piece?

In theory you could add edges between the vertices on the 2 sides. My guess is it would work, but it migth also cause problems for dForce to handle properly.

So if your goal is 2 different colors I think a better option might be to find a 2-sided shader. I think that Oso has one or more.

  • Or you use a simple hood and after dforcing you create a geoshell on it and give them the outside color or shader…

So it's possible to do a 2-sided shader? I hadn't thought that was possible since the back side of the polygon technically doesn't exist... But if this is possible that might so my problem in other areas... I'll look into this.

  • Thanks both of you. I'll look into these laugh
