Go to File > Import, and select Wavefront OBJ from the drop down. Some OBJs work better than others, and some freebie OBJs are not worth bothering about IMO.
See how you get on, you will probably need to add the textures yourself in the Surfaces pane.
Remember that .obj really doesn't have any size information (how long is one unit), so an imported pistol might be huge as a house and a house small as a needle eye. You need to figure out the scale used when importing, DS has some presets from different modelers.
Some just rar the obj + mtl files without putting them into a folder structure, and you wont find the "Poser folder structure" in a distribution of only the .obj.

DAZ Studio can import the OBJ format, yes.

cool thank you both. What about the rar files?
They are just packed with an alternative to zip, you just need to fins a free unrar application that doesnt install too much crapware on the side.
unrar application? Yes but the ones I see are not folders.
RAR is a ZIP type of file, a packed archive.
You need to unpack it first to see the contents. WinRAR or WIZIP will both unpack RAR files.
Do you perhaps mean RSR, which is an older poser format thumbnail file?

no I just thought they would be in folder format.
