Love the Wild Fantasy Roadster. So much so I purchased it. However the steering is on the wrong side for Canada and USA. Is there function with this great model to switch the steering wheel, pedals and accompanying poses to the North American side? If not the creator TD3D should consider creating some.
Anyone else run into this issue with similar models by this creator? Any tips or suggestions on how to resolve this issue other then using DAZ Studio's tranlation silders to move them
Again I am not slamming this model. It's fantastic for the car entusiast as I am. And hot rods of this caliber are hard to find. I only wish the drivers position was on the North American side.
Cheers & Merry Crhistmas to ALL.

You could do the old X-Scale -100% (you might have to invert the normals on all surfaces with the Geometry tool, mine goes all black in preview when I do that). The only text is on the gauges and the license plate, but they are mapped separately, so you can tile them horizontally -1.0. The needles will go the wrong way, but change the limits and offset the other way. The only thing left is that the pedals are reversed, but you could probably avoid showing them in most cases. One gotcha I found is that it breaks the rigging on the steering tube (as it's named) so instead of behaving like a pushrod, it swings out following the wheel direction. Not sure how to go about correcting that, but if you don't have show a turn, you can be ready to go in 10 minutes..
Thanks kindly, I really appreciate the response.
I'm kind of perplexed why an American thing like a hot rod would not be offered with steeering on the American side. I was thinking I could render a scene then in Photoshop dor a mirror flip, but that would then put any other cars in the scene on the British/Aussie side of the road.
I think in future I'll just avoid purchasing any vehicles with the steering on that side of the road. As I am assuming the seller is not marketing his product to Canada or USA.
Cheers
Ken
Hot rods have never been limited to the US. Product Artists and Studio users are also not limited to the US.
Never said hot rods were limited to the US. I said they were an American creation, a tradition like McDonalds and baseball. Sure baseball and McDonalds is in alot of other places. But it's roots are in the USA. So are hot rods. The hot rod craze started in southern California in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Having a hot rod model with only UK/Aussie driving would be akin to offering a London taxi cab with only North American driving. IMHO, it just doesn't make sense. The base car for a hot rod is usually an American Model A Ford or similar Chevrolet, Plymouth, Hudson, etc of that era.
I've owned a classic Corvette which I restored in 1983 and during the summer I spend most of my time at car shows, cruise-ins, car events photographing classic cars, custom cars {led sleds}, rat rods, lowriders and hot rods.

I suspect the majority of the worls hot rods are in North America.
So why limit a 3D model to perhaps a larges audience whom would be interested in your product.
I love the Fantasy hot rod model. BUT it drives on the wrong side of the street for any illustrations I would like to use it for, especially when I want to use it for a scene involving any 3D car models I already have.
Cheers & Merry Christmas...
@kenmo, Firstly, Happy Christmas and thanks for your appreciation for my work, ...albeit the steering aspect :)
Very good issue you raised with regards to the Wild Fantasy Rods. I had those same questiond banging my brain as I was creating them, ...US?, ...International? Obviously the "international" format wone the day in my mind. But I can just share some of the logic behind that decision.
I absolutely agree, that Hot Rodding has it's traditional roots in North Amarica. But all over the world I've seen rods to die for. Was in the rodding scene myself through-out the '80's and '90's here in Australia, which even today has a huge fraternity. Seeing Left-Hand drive vehicles is quite the buzz and makes for good conversation starters here in Oz. I just figured that my Wild Fantasy Rods needed to represent and accomodate that small part of the rodding scene that just isn't catered for, ie the rest of us that know how to contribute to the scene. There's been countless Right-Hand drive rods and customs grace the shores of the US showcasing what is created elseware. I guess it came down to a decision to be faithful to the way hotrodding looks in today's world. There's no shortage of Left-Hand drive vehicles in the 3D marketplace. But a Right-Hand rod cruising the streets of London, or somewhere this side of the Pacific, just kind of looked at home and quick to set up.
Technical suggestion:
As for those rigging and fix-it details. My simple solution would be to create a wearable prop of the steering and "gas pedal" (ie. use Geometry Editor and delete all but the parts you need and save new prop with rigging intact). This way there would be no need to worry about reversing mats. Using the ERC Freeze tools, you would have those "wearables" function as if they were made for it.
Don't Export as an Obj or anything. Just save as a .duf Prop/Wearable. The idea is to keep the rigging to use with ERC Freeze. Once loaded back into the scene, you can slide them any side you want.
Alternately, Export entire vehicle to Hexagon, move the steering, Send it back to Daz and choose "Create Morph" and do all the bone adjustments and ERC freezing. But I seriously don't recomend messing with the main vehicle unless you are absolutely confident in what needs to be saved and where/how. Things could break real quick as NorthOf45 touched on.
Here's a bit of a PDF on how I created a simple morph to address the steering and gas pedal for you. I would create this using the complete vehicle though. But for the exercise, I used the Pose Cab to demonstrate a walk-through. A morph for the Roadster will be less complicated and practical. This hasn't addressed the suspension. But it would be a bit more involved and I am fresh out of Sunday :)
Hope this helps some.
@kenmo, ...better still. Try this :)

@Td3d "better still. Try this :)"
Thanks!! Now a user can have it both ways. You comment makes me want to render the roadster in Old london or Tuscany etc.
Awesome! Doubles the value. Thanks so much for taking the time @Td3d. Enjoy the Holidays.
BTW, the Wild Fantasy Hot Rod has received the same treatment: Left-Hand Hot Rod Upgrade - Freebie
Perfect. This is outstanding. Love it... Yes, I was aware there is a large hot rodding base in Australia and New Zealand. Matter of fact Anthony Hopkins portrayed a gentleman from NZ who raced an Indian motorbike at Bonnieville in the "World's Fastest Indian"
Just finished a render using this delightful roadster. Take a peek at the link below. Would highly recommend this item to those 3D hot rodders. Only wish there were more hot rod and vintage car models available like this beauty.

@kenmo the link you posted goes to an earlier post. You could try https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/5196771/#Comment_5196771
To link to a particular post, and not a random one, you need to click on the day or time under the avatar and name of the poster, and then just copy the url from the top of that page to use as your link.
Nice image by the way, and have a happy, safe Christmas!
Sorry, but I thought some posters maybe interested in the render I created using this outstanding model. In future I will not post such links here.
That's not what was meant, of course some posters would be interested. The link you gave would go to the last entry read by a user (which could be anywhere in the thread, depending on when they last visited, if ever), but you can specify the exact entry to avoid having to hunt for it. It might be intuitive to go to the last entry at the time you posted, but in a few days it might be buried under dozens more posts, especially on a busy thread.
Don't be sorry Kenmo! No criticism was intended. As NorthOf45 pointed out it was the link that was confusing, not your lovely render. My intention was to pass on a little information on linking to specific posts, just as it had once been pointed out to me. Please keep posting images!![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
...One of my all time favorite movies. I just love the scene where he takes the Indian for a run, whether they accepted it or not. And that support actress (Salt Lake circuit scenes) just had the biggest and best laugh ever. Such a good movie. He was all, "...it either works, or it don't". Gotta love that attitude. :)
