DS 4.12 crashing anytime I do a search in the content pane

I recently removed the CMS stuff, because I didn't like how it screwed up my aniblocks and copied them to two different places making it very confusing for animation. So I uninstalled CMS. Of course I get an error message when I start DAZ saying some features will not be available, yada yada yada,.. not a big deal to me, I only want to use the content library and no smart content.

But now it seems I cannot even do a simple search in the content library or it causes DS to crash. I think a search should be possible without using smart content. I just want to search based on file name, not metadata. So is this normal for DAZ to crash under these circumstances? Is there some way to fix this? Do I need to reinstall DAZ?
