How to create a 16:9 basic setup?
Hi, I wanna do most times a setup like this:
I will use the pane to add an image as background to save renderpower and/or because I like the image as background.
So how do I setup this easy to a FullHD setup? I render most time in QuadHD (so the models looks much better on a FullHD screen).
I wanna build a basic setup that I can always usecamera+plane ready for a new QuadHD scenario (2560x1440).
I cant find pixels, only % for the sliders :(
Edit: I got now for the camera the dimensions settings in the parameters thanks to this:

but I can still not make 100% sure the plane is also in 16:9 + QuadHD size.
Edit: and is there a way to make the camera always visible for me, even if I dont click it?
so if I select now the plane, that I can fit it to the lines from the camera.
Edit...
think I got it xD...

If you want an image backdrop you can load it via the Window>Panes(Tabs)>Environmeny pabe - set the Type to Backdrop and load your image through the Colour property. You could also render without any backdrop, then save the result as PNG or Tiff and simply composite on top of the background image in your image editor (or for an animation render to an Image Sequence, which is a good idea anyway, to get an alpha in your final video which you can use to composite a backdrop).
I create non moving comics, so no animation and post process editing would be bad, because I wanna see where the folk will stay ;)
I did try the backdrop system, but... it filled too much in my last test. I had a bad experience with it, why I wanna use the plane. Sadly the light decrease the image quality ... so it looks before better as after the render :/
Well, you could plug the image into the Emission Colour for the plane (if this is in Iray - in 3Delight use Ambient Colour) and adjust the Luminosity (Ambient Strength for 3Delight) to get a reasonle look without casting too much light forward into the scene - but you would still need to be careful about light shingng onto the backdrop plane, or shadows fallng onto it. You could use a non-rendering plane (set Visible In Render off) or backdrop (there is an option to render in the Environment pane which you can turn off) as a guide, then place the actual image behind the Tiff or PNG version - that would let you see what you were doing without the issues of rendering the result.
Uff... a lot informations, I will try to play with them.
I just tested the backdrop again and its much better, best part is, that the bodys dont slide into the image, so i dont have the struggle that as example, the feet goes through the plane/earth. And for my test render now, the bodys didnt throwed a shadow on the backdrop!
So seems like I will work in future with the backdrop :)
On my last build, I used the background on the Basecolor, but I will maybe try the other out, I have not worked with the other colors so far.
But I think with backdrop+camera can I get happy :)
