What do you mean? That is the way I would describe what usually happens.
Step one: set up your Genesis (or any character/prop/etc) the way you want it to look, and select it in your Scene pane, then either use the Export shortcut button or the file dropdown list, and Studio will ask you give the object a name, and to select where you want the object file to be saved - make it a directory that you will remember.
Next, you will be asked to choose export options, and the ones shown here work for me, though other people use different options (experiment to see what works best for you). And then accept the options.
Studio will start saving the object and shows a progress bar.
And that's it for exporting the new object.
You can now import this back to Studio, and again you can use an import shortcut or file dropdown list, and you are asked where you want to get the object from, so navigate to where you saved the object (it will have the name you chose for it) and select that, to bet a list of import options (see mine, but you can vary this).
Accept and you are done for the object.
Normally, using Studio 4.12, the textures come with the object, but for this example it did not work. Two ways to fix that: One is to copy each texture from each surface of Genesis (and clothes/hair) and paste it to the corresponding surface on the object; or the other way is the select the object and apply skin/hair textures from your appropriate runtime library and Studio should put the textures in the right places (though this does not always work, and I do the copy/paste trick fo that).
