Converting Dawn stuff to G2F?

So I've seen products and tutorials going the OTHER way (converting V4 UVs to Dawn UVs, making autofit clones to fit things TO Dawn) but as a G2F user I'd really like to be able to go the other way.

Does anyone know ways to:

a) Create a Dawn autofit clone for G2F (so I can fit Dawn clothing to G2F)

and

b) Convert Dawn UVs to something that will work on G2F (I know Texture Converter does V4 to Dawn, but it doesn't seem to do the reverse from what I read, I may be wrong though?)

Cheers in advance :)

(Please note that I am not looking to get into a 'which figure is superior' debate.)

It won't be perfect, but you can follow the same V4 -> Dawn tutorials but change the figures. Where it says Dawn, use G2F, where it says V4, use Dawn.

As a Dawn user, I have to wonder though why you'd want to do this. V4/Genesis/G2F already have more clothing than Dawn could even dream of, and a lot more choice in characters/textures. Some creators even make multiple versions of Dawn clothing/characters- 1 for Dawn and 1 for Daz figures.

Thanks, I'll have a go at it this weekend, see if I can get it to work. :)

Mostly, there's just a couple of clothes/skins for Dawn that I'd really like to be able to use. I can't afford to invest in G2F AND Dawn, and for various reasons I won't go into to avoid turning this into another figure war thread, I settled on G2F (which is my choice, and I'm definitely not suggesting that people who chose otherwise were wrong to do so or anything. Your figure is not my figure and that's okay!). But there's some things Dawn has that G2F doesn't have a version of (and I really do appreciate the content creators doing the double release when they do) that I'd still like to be able to access. I've previously been treating it as an either/or option but having created a K4 autofit clone for G2F, it just made me wonder if it was possible to have my cake and eat it too. :)

Sorry, I didn't actually follow a pre-written tutorial for it? :\ I'll try and find some time this weekend to write one up, but I figured it out as I went so the method is probably messier than it needs to be and I can't guarantee perfect results or anything?

I would really appreciate any time that you could give to this. Messy or not... it is more than I have to work with now. :)

If anyone else knows of any tutorials for this please also feel free to jump in

The biggest issues in coversion from Dawn to any DAZ figure lies is that Dawn has markedly different grouping in the abdominal, hip, pelvis regions.

PhilC has a Dawn add on for WW but it will not work in the stand alone version. It also requires an extra step and a set of python scripts. A few conversions worked so-so, others were awful. In a couple of cases, I couldn't even put it down to the mesh as when I ran conversions for more conventional figures, the results were fine.

it's not about using the interim... I wish to learn how to create the autofit clones for other reasonsThere is a tutorial on creating Clones for Dawn over at Hivewire. You should be able to follow the same process to create any clone for any figure. Just substitute your figure of choice. Sorry I don't believe I'm allowed to provide a link....if I'm wrong on this will someone let me know so I can link to the tutorial?

    thanks

While I know there is XDresser and WW support for Dawn, I don't see a XDresser license for G2F. I suppose you could go from Dawn to V4 and then on to autofit.

WW has Genesis support but I don't know if Phil is planning on doing any for the G2 line.
