I think Rihanna might be my closest likeness yet, my commissioner seemed to think so. :)

Yeah, it's one of your best...

I used her in a render I can't link here, due to it being NSFW, but anyone ready for a bit of nudity can find it @Renderosity searching the artist list for T0mcat00 (that's zeros, not Os)

Thanks, that is a beautiful render! :)

LOL! That thought did cross my mind as I was making it! XD

You're all very welcome, and thank you! ^_^

You can watch me on DA if you want to get notified right away when I release something new. I usually release at least one or two freebies a week. The only commissions I don't post are those of private people, of course, but any celebrity or game character is fair game. :)

Just 0.02 from someone who has zero experience in 3D sculpting.  The only one I've tried is Kate Mara since I don't know the othe people or game characters.  The morph is very good at capturing the outline of her face but it does not say Kate Mara IMHO.  I think the reason is that the morph is missing her two most prominent features: the chin dimple and the nose (the tip and philtrum?).

It's still a very pretty and unique face though and thank you for sharing them.

I tried so hard to get Kate's nose right, I really did. I literally spent hours. It's hard to admit defeat but at some point I just had to call it (I want to blame it on a lack of geometry in G8F's face, but that may just be an excuse for my lack of skill). :,( All I can hope is it'll serve as a good base to start from or at least as another pretty face for the genepool.

Here's the latest three, Julia Kyoka came out really nice though I think (she has such a smooth body it was a delight sculpting her features):

    https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Lexi-Sindel-Head-Morph-for-G8F-829403352https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Julia-Kyoka-Head-and-Body-Morphs-for-G8F-829620669https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Kate-Mara-Head-Morph-for-G8F-830230704

I think without the DAZ Studio HD tools the only way you can get details like the nose nearly exactly similar is use normals and/or displacement in DAZ Studio and that means you've need to create those by creating those maps after a hi-res sculpt in another program and creating those maps there with intent to use in DAZ Studio only. A very roundabout and suboptimal way of doing things for sure.

AFAIK even if you would do that, You wouldn't be allowed to use them on free figures... They are supposed to be only used for figures sold through the DAZ shop... Not 100% sure, as I'm not a PA or DAZ representative, but that's what I think to have gathered from posts in this forum...

BTW, relative to the earlier discussion regarding the nose of the Kate figure and the difficulty of achieving the creased effect in the septum/tip, there is a solution in the form of a morph slider if you have the following morph package:

    https://www.daz3d.com/rarestone-s-face-morphs-collection-for-genesis-8-female

Just crank the included slider and boom!, you're done.

Also a merchant resource! Doesn't count for freebies though I would guess. :/ I need the sculpting practice anyway...

BTW, there's an update to the Kristen Stewart morph I uploaded today, it fixes a small error in her left eye. I mean I don't think it was ever really noticable in an actual render, but just in case I urge you guys to re-download: https://www.deviantart.com/tritiumcg/art/Kristen-Stewart-Head-and-Body-Morphs-for-G8F-841957993

    Thank you for the update.

I certainly haven't mastered the technique in 3D Coat. I noticed that there is a method of making use of the low poly model plus a highly detailed model, to bake the details into textures for use on the low poly model. It's shown in this tutorial on YouTube. 3D-Coat Sculpting Workflow Tutorial

There are also a number of 'alphas' available for use in adding skin details in 3D Coat over at ArtStation. Some work better than others, some don't work at all - depends who is making them and with which program I think. .pngs normally work. It's the .psd files that are iffy BUT if they open at least in our image editors they can be used there too. I test out the free ones before making purchases from any of these vendors if I can. And of course if one has Zbrush there are oodles of brushes available!

Oh definitely, normal and displacement maps can replicate most of the detail of HD morphs. It's just a matter of ease of use. With the HD morph tools you just use the bridge to ZBrush, sculpt in HD, and re-import, voila it's done. You don't have to set up a low and and a high poly mesh, you don't have to do any baking, you don't have to worry about the displacement maps matching at the seams (with the way Iray handles displacement maps this is easier said than done). Its value lies in the amount of time saved, and that can be substantial. I wouldn't go through the hassle of making displacements for a commission unless I were to charge way more (and even then I wouldn't really want to) but with HD morphs it would be essentially the same workflow I use now, just with more detail. Even if I only use it to add a little more detail to a nose for example, or add proper dimples and laugh-lines. All those little things that the base mesh just doesn't have enough polys for.

  • Catherine3678abCatherine3678ab Posts: 8,245

Me too. A simple dimple or mole, so many people have them - and in some family lines it's actually like a signature sign that they are indeed members of whichever family. May one day with another new Genesis :-)

  • Thanks for the morphs, i really like the Alia Janine morph. I'd love to see more of the same age group - but excellant and your sharing is brilliant.

Your welcome and thank you. What you get is pretty much solely up to those who commission me, and I get a very diverse set of orders. The good news is that there's probably at least a couple of morphs for everyone among the collection, and you never know who's gonna be next. :)

What is the process for ordering custom morphs from you? Is this an option we can use?

Oh, I don’t want them desperately, certainly not enough to pay commission prices for them.

I'm probably not allowed to talk about that topic here but at my Deviantart main site is a pinned post "Commission Information," there's also a link to it in literally every post I've listed. If you have any questions just send me a note at DA.

That is decided by whoever commissions me. All listed celebrity freebies were commissions.

One head and three full body morphs this update:

Fun fact, Zdenka was the model Viconia DeVir in Baldur's Gate 2 was based on. If you make any BG2 fanart I would love to see it. :)

After the last thread it occurred to me that contacting me via note on Deviantart might be a little hard to figure out due to some recent UI changes. There used to be "Send Note" button on my profile, and hovering over my name also offered a "Send Note" option. However, the DA design team in their infinite wisdom decided to remove both these buttons so here is a mini tutorial:

Hover over the speech cloud with three dots in it near the top right of the screen. This is the chat box (that literally no one uses because it doesn't work properly), near the bottom is a button called "NOTES." Click on that. Now you're in your Inbox. Near the top right is a big button "New Note," you can't miss it. Click on that. Where it says "TO" type in TritiumCG (it might autocomplete), under "SUBJECT" type in something like Commission Request. Fill out the form with your questions and I'll get back to you ASAP. When you receive a note back the speech cloud will have a "1" in it (you might have to refresh every now and again).

I hope someone finds this info useful. :/
