Using M4 textures on Genesis 3 and 8

Trying to find out if this product https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-3-michael-4   would allow me to use M4 textures on both Genesis 8 and Genesis 3 figures  I saw a notation on this related product  https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-uvs-for-genesis  which says Genesis 8 would use the Genesis 3 UV set - but not sure what that implies for the other product making M4 available to both G3 and G8.  Thanks for any help.

No, you can't use that on Genesis 8. It's a geograft product, and geografts are usually generation-specific. You'd also run into issues with the arms and legs geografts because of the different default poses for G3 and G8. For Genesis 8, you'd need https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-8-michael-4

  • also Mosk, I know you use Carrara

geografts the UV mapping messes up in Carrara

if you were to apply it to Misty's preset for example

the only way it might work is via collada export from DAZ studio and of course obj

it will of course work perfectly ok in DAZ studio

  • Thanks for both replies - and yes, I have pretty much exclusively used Carrara for animations, but i'm about to upgrade to a new computer and graphics card - so planning to test things out in DAZ Studio to see if I can do some rendering there as well.
