How to get skin to look a bit more "Cartoonish"

How do I get the skin texture (not skincolor/race) to look like the promo pics here :https://www.daz3d.com/cheer-fantasy-pro-cheerleader-poses

I have been messsing around with Vic 8 Iray and I cannot get anywhere near the same "Cartoonish" skin. I end up with shiny skin and a lot more details.

Do I need another model; like an older genesis?

Bonus question what hair is used on the main woman in the main promo picture.

What do you mean by cartoonish ??  If you desire to remove the shiny skin, reduce gloss/specular in surface settings.

  • I think it's a genesis 3 female, maybe the hair is the flirty hair for genesis 3 female, i don't think there is a cartoon effect, it's just the lighting and the distance that gives this impression, maybe you can use "manga marker materials" for your skin and add fibermesh brow for realism, have a nice day ;)

To make skin less glossy, increase the Glossy Roughness parameter. If that doesn't get you the result you want, try increasing Top Coat Roughness and Specular Roughness.

To reduce details, you could try lowering the Bump and Normal parameters. If you're using an HD morph, then certainly dial that out. But mostly, the amount of detail is baked into whatever skin you're using. You might have to purchase a different skin to get a proper Toon look, such as The Girl 8. (You can use The Girl 8's skin on V8's character.)

The character in the promo is a G3 figure but I can't tell which one. G8 can wear G3 skin, so you could apply the G3F base skin to your V8 figure and see if you like that better.

  • Thx for the replies.

I decided to start the new year by getting a proper cold, hence the late reply.

If I understand it correctly: Dail back details and mess around with some settings fairly certain did that, but maybe not correctly. I'll try again.

    Question 1:

I was looking at https://www.daz3d.com/resource-saver-shaders-collection-for-iray and there is some background character presets. Would those do the trick (here I assume that those can be applied)?

Also the product seems to be able to reduce the hair which might also help with the cartoon look.

    Question 2:

How to apply other skin to a character. I have a couple of characters where the product contains scripts or something to change skin, but I assume that you are talking about a more manual thing?
